Industrial Democracy is what the IWW calls its program for Workers controlling their own work. This makes them different from most Trade/Labor/Craft Unions whom only concern themselves with modest improvements to their members physical conditions (if your lucky) one very old criticism of the mainstream unions is that they seem more interested in sharing power with the boss and management rather then helping their own membership.
